The Battle Frontier (abbreviated name, Battle 25) is a variable stealth space attack aircraft carrier connected at the tip of Island 1 and charged with guarding the Macross Destiny convoy. Much larger than the Macross 7 class, the Battle 25 was designed for enhanced fighting strength and command abilities to accommodate the much larger scale of the emigrant fleet and the accompanying naval fleet. These changes resulted in the Battle 27 being built over 200 meters longer than the Battle 7 class and the operational weight was doubled to 16,550,000 metric tons. The Stealth systems of the Battle Destiny make it surprisingly difficult to pick up on both active and passive sensors, despite its enormous size.
The Battle Destiny is comprised of six ships: two stealth medium space carriers (which function as the arms in attack mode), one Combat Command Carrier ("central block"), two medium assault battleships (functioning as the leg "engine blocks"") and one heavy bombardment warship ("Gunship"). When separated, each ship is fold capable, combat capable and otherwise possesses all capabilities of a battleship.
The enormous Macross Destiny colony fleet consists of the Battle 27 attached to the front of the massive Island 1 some 15 kilometers long (much larger than City 7, which was some 6 kilometers in length). Nearly half of the 10 million residents of the Macross Destiny fleet reside in Island 1 under a dome some 2,000 meters in altitude. The ground levels feature metro areas, hills, rivers, and oceans. Sky city is located on the ceiling of the dome while there are several levels underground with residential zones and storage space, gravity generators, propulsion systems, and so on. The shell remains up normally but is closed during battles and space folds. A large cluster of other, smaller domed Islands are also attached directly to the Macross Frontier in two large chains trailing behind the Island 1. In times of crisis, the individual Islands have defensive shutters that envelope the dome to protect those inside.
Like the Pioneer, although it is even larger, the Battle Destiny is fully capable of fighting and flying in atmosphere and exiting under its own power.

The SDFN ships are the mass-produced version of the original SDF-1 Macross and appear almost identical (including fully functional transformation). These emigrant vessels were built for the purpose of investigating and securing routes in advance of Super-Long Distance Colonization Ships (Megaroad-01). The SDFN is a new model built as a new fold-capable space battleship cruiser and developed as an intermediate immigration ship. The SDFN-12 is the last of the vessels, and due to the unknown area the fleet would be traveling, was assigned to the 57th Large-Scale Super-Long-Distance Colonization Fleet as an escort vessel. The Pioneer often flies ahead of the fleet scouting out areas.
The Pioneer is not a stealthy ship, at least compared to its bigger brother the Battle 27. But it is very solidly built and heavily armed for its size, sporting various missiles and guns all over its body. It is also notable for the large number of fighters it supports. Able to fully field an armada of five hundred variable fighters, the Pioneer can at times literally swamp a foe in fighters. It also supports over four hundred non-transformable mecha, named destroids. These piloted machines often can be found dug into the surface of the Pioneer during combat or running around on the outside of the hull via their magnetic anchor plates.
The main gun of the Pioneer is the traditional super-dimensional energy cannon (Noted first on the SDF-1 for blowing two Zentradi battleships to bits in orbit around the moon from the surface of the planet!). Often the mere backlash from the main gun is enough to seriously destroy or cripple an enemy vessel. However, it is noted that the main gun does have a cool-down time of five minutes between shots, as the energy reserves rebuild themselves. To assist in the defense of the vessel, the Pioneer has a large amount of smaller beam weapons, in both turret and smaller versions.
The Pioneer has attached to it two AMRD cruisers, which function as arms. With their control towers removed, they serve as both fighter hangers and weapon emplacements.
It should be noted that despite its size, the Pioneer is able to operate in atmosphere and exit atmosphere under its own power. The design of the SDFN is meant for atmospheric assault if required.
