Yes, we do have rules here.
1. Firstly, you must agree to the Proboards Terms of Service.
2. No racial comments. I hate racists.
3. No spamming/trolling/etc. Spammers will be warned twice before being temporarily banned. Trollers may or may not be warned before being banned, temporarily or permanent.
4. Please keep advertising in your signature or the Advertising board. The Admins/Mods have the right to delete links to any sites that do not abide by these rules. To advertise, you have to actually be a member that actually Roleplays here. I do not like it when people come to websites as a guest and post a link to their own site.
5. Keep off-topic discussions in the General Board.
6. No harsh language. That means no Real-life cuss words. You can say things like kriff, kark, stang, frack, or whatever.
7. No posting links to any pornographic websites etc. You will be banned immediately.
8. No killing another player's character without their permission.
9. No destroying another player's ship without the player's permission. For example, you can't have your character sneak onto a Super Star Destroyer and blow up a reactor, causing the entire thing to explode. That's just not nice. Sure, you can make it look fancy, like big explosions and stuff, but don't destroy the entire thing. Don't even cripple it... This doesn't count if your character is engaging a huge squadron of fighters. Your character might take down one or two NPC-flown fighters, as long as you don't kill another character flying a fighter.
10. I know it's hard, but try not to get into a weapons war. Meaning, I know that everyone is going to want to get their hands on technology from other sci-fi things. Like, a person from Star Trek will really want to take a look at the hyperdrive of a TIE Defender that they just shot down. Star Wars Hyperdrives are way faster then Star Trek Warp Drives, as far as I understand. And once they get that hyperdrive, they're going to go after the laser cannons. The ion cannons. The proton torpedoes. Then the Star Wars people are going to get their hands on the phasers, the transporters... This could just start a fight of 'HA! I STOLE YOUR TURBOLASERS!' 'WELL, I STOLE YOUR PHASERS!' 'WELL, I STOLE YOUR--' and so on. It's happened before, just don't do it. Please.
11. No God-modding. That means your character is not completely infallible.
12. Please make your posts readable. Use correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. Spellcheck is helpful.
13. Have fun! ...or else.
Character/Faction limits
I'm very lax on character/faction limits here. I'd let you have three hundred as long as you could remember them all. But there are some rules here about that.
You are allowed to create a maximum of five (5) characters without mod/admin permission. If you wish to create more than that, ask a mod or admin. NPC's or Temporary characters do not count toward that limit.
You are allowed to create a maximum of three (3) factions without mod/admin permission. If you want to create any more, you have to get mod/admin permission.
Concerning Canon Characters:
A Canon character is a character that was not created by you, but is from whatever your Universe is from; Book, TV show, Movie, Video Game, etc. These include people like Luke Skywalker, Captain Kirk, Jack O'Neill, etc. You must have Mod/Admin permission to use a Canon character. No two people can have the same Canon character. You can't do anything that the character wouldn't do when in his/her normal Universe. Example, you can't have Captain Archer use his phaser to kill T'pol just for the heck of it, or have Luke and Leia make out.
....
Oh, wait...
<.<
*hem*
Also, if you have a character that's from Earth, you can't have him encounter a Star Destroyer and go 'WHOAH THAT THING'S FROM STAR WARS!'. I don't care if it's his favorite movie, just don't have anyone recognize anything from a movie or TV show or book or anything. It'll just mess everything up.
